Abstract

The development of ecotourism destinations can have positive and negative impacts on the socioeconomic conditions of the surrounding community. Therefore, researchers conducted research on
efforts to develop ecotourism destinations gunung Tunak ecotourism park and the impact of
developing this destination on the socio-economic community of Mertak Village. This study aims to:
(1) how to develop ecotourism destination for Gunung Tunak natural tourism park (2) what is the
impact of developing an ecotourism destination in Gunung Tunak natural tourism park on the
economic condition of the Mertak village community. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method
that uses data collection methods of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The
results of this study indicate (1) The development of ecotourism destinations for Gunung Tunak
natural tourism parks uses a community based taourism approach. In developing this destination, the
manager develops five aspects, namely attractions, accessibility, amenities, activities and services.
The results showed that the Gunung Tunak natural tourism park has very good attractions,
accessibility, amenities, activities and services offered to tourists. (2) The development of ecotourism
destinations for the Gunung Tunak natural tourism park has both positive and negative impacts on the
socio-economic conditions of the Mertak village community. The positive impacts are in the form of
increasing income, increasing job opportunities, increasing business opportunities and improving
social interaction between communities. Meanwhile, the negative impacts are social change, and
security.
